Demand for commodities carries natural resources IPOs

The strongly performing natural resources sector won equity investors’ renewed attention this week. African Barrick Gold’s £600m IPO was closing as EuroWeek went to press and South Africa’s Optimum Coal aimed to close its R1.52bn ($208m) float early next week, while Norwegian oil giant Statoil announced that it would spin off its retail assets through a major IPO in Q4. ..
